Lucy Quist – Managing Director

Lucy Quist is the Managing Director of Airtel Ghana. Lucy is the first Ghanaian woman to lead a multi-national telecommunications company in Ghana. A passionate believer in excellence and integrity, Lucy successfully transitioned from a core engineering background to become one of Africa's leading telecommunications business leaders.

Her vast experience in telecommunications covers both mobile and fixed telephony, and extends to value added services for consumers and enterprises. She has a proven track record of leading teams to deliver superior results. Before joining Airtel Ghana, Lucy was the Director of Vodafone Ghana's Enterprise division, Vodafone Business Solutions. 

Lucy started her career in automotive engineering with Ford Motor Company working her way through design engineering, manufacturing and project management functions in the UK, Germany and Portugal. She later became a Change Manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London as part of the RBS-ABN AMRO Operations merger team.   In 2008, Lucy joined Millicom International Cellular (Tigo), working as Head of Business Development for Africa, and as Head of Northern Sector in Ghana before becoming the Chief Marketing Officer in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A product of Wesley Girls' High School, Lucy is passionate about tapping into human potential to deliver outstanding results. She describes herself as an engaging leader who commits her energy to developing her people. She enjoys seeing them soar! She is a Chartered Electrical and Electronic Engineer (UK) who holds a first class degree and an MBA from INSEAD.

Lucy is married with three children. The family loves to travel together to explore the world.

Maruf Lawal –Director, Network

Maruf Lawal is a highly trained Telecom Engineer who has worked in different capacities in the telecom industry both for telecom equipment manufacturing vendors (ZTE-Nigeria, Huawei-Nigeria) and telecom operators (MTN-Nigeria, Reltel Nigeria M-Tel Nigeria, & Zain Ghana).

Over the years he has developed a strong level of competence within his chosen workspace of Core-Network operation and planning in the Telecom industry. He has also worked in various capacities in Network Planning and Optimization (Core-Network (CS & PS), Charging –Network (PPAS and CS3.0)), Network Operation and Maintenance, and Network Implementation (Core-network projects, Site Build for RF Base stations, TX Implementation).

He is a self-starter, willing to create something out of nothing in a very positive way and has enjoyed success so far in his chosen endeavours.

Tina Muparadzi – Director, Human Resources

Tina joined Airtel in 2006 as Group HR Director, Celtel, she then became the Zain Academy Director and later as the head for Talent Development and Engagement, Airtel

Tina holds a BSC (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Zimbabwe and an MSc in Organisation Psychology from the University of Bristol, (UK). Additionally, she holds an MSc in Coaching and Consulting for Change from HEC School of Management, Paris (France)

Prior to joining Airtel, she was the HR Consultant for Ernst and Young (South Africa), HR Manager for British American Tobacco (Zimbabwe, South Africa), HR Consultant for Coopers and Lybrand Associates (Zimbabwe) and Graduate Trainee for Union Carbide

Tina has 1 child, enjoys travelling, food, some music and reading

Hannah Agbozo- Director, Legal & Regulatory

Hannah joined the company in July 2008 as the Legal & Regulatory Director. She has a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Ghana, Legon and a master of Law (LLM)- University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. She also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Colorado State University, USA

Prior to joining Airtel, she worked with Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah Law Firm as a Senior Associate and a consultant to IFC and Government of Ghana. She also worked with Nestle Ltd. (Central & West Africa) as their Legal and Tax Manager

Hannah likes reading, listening to music, travelling and is married with 4 children

Edward Appiah –Director, Supply Chain Management

Prior to joining Airtel Ghana, Edward worked with Millicom Ghana Ltd as the Head, Supply Chain Management where he was an executive team member, managed the company's Capex/Opex budget and many more.

He holds an MSc in Supply Chain Management from Coventry University (UK/ GTUC). He has attended training courses including;

  • Handsets Developments- Huawei Technologies, China- March 2011
  • Tigo Leadership Essentials- Tanzania – December 2010 and many more.

He did Voluntary work by teaching in a remote area in the Upper East Region. He likes travelling, sight seeing, research work and watching football.

Jean Claude Domilongo Bope- Director, Data Business

Jean Claude has over ten years experience in the Telecoms Industry. Prior to joining Airtel, he was the Marketing Program Manager & Head of Value Added Services for Millicom SA in Senegal. At Millicom, he was responsible for setting up the Data Business and the commercial launch of 3G services, as well as various other projects. Before this, he had also held the position of Broadband Director.

Jean-Claude had previously worked with Oasis S.P.R.L, a subsidiary of Millicom in the Democratic Republic of Congo as the Information Category Manager.

Jean Claude has led numerous multi-million dollar projects and hopes to support in driving Airtel's Internet and Data business to achieve the vision of being the number one Internet company in Ghana.

Jean Claude loves playing Tennis and is married with three wonderful kids

Solanke Abimbola- Director, Finance

Solanke was previously with Airtel Nigeria, where he held the position of Financial Controller for 3years,prior to which he held the position of Director, Treasury.

Solanke has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, Second Class Honors (Upper division) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in 1989. He also has a Master of Science in Finance and Management from Cranefield University, Bedford, UK in 2004. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (F.C.A) and an Associate, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI).

Solanke has extensive training on leadership and Management from various institutions. Solanke has a total of 23 years working experience, and prior to joining Airtel, he was with KPMG Professional Services where he served as Senior Manager in the Assurance and Business Advisory Unit.

As a Financial Controller of Airtel Nigeria, Solanke has successfully driven financial discipline and controls, Tax Management, business partnering and Airtel values. He is a key leader in establishing a strong and dependable Finance Team.

Hilary Denise Arko-Dadzie – Head, AIRTEL TOWERS

Hilary joined the company on 9 December 2009 as Project Manager in the Executive Office where she managed strategic projects such as the Westel migration , Millenium Villages project, 3.75G internet project, Mobile number portability and Airtel Premiere launch . She also acts as the head of Towerco Airtel Sierra Leone.

Hilary holds a BSC in Computer Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and an MBA (General Management) from the University of East London (UK), as well as IT and Project management certifications from Cisco, George Washington University and Prince II. She has 16 years working experience in Telecoms, ISP, NGO and destination inspection industries.

Hilary believes in doing things the first time right and in a structured and timely manner. She loves travelling, sightseeing with her family and styling hair.
